John and Emma fulfilled their dream and became masters of their own destiny when they opened the Cornish Arms in May 2013. With John's pedigree as a chef the idea was to open an un-pretentious relaxed pub serving the best quality food and drink for all to enjoy. That part of the dream has become a reality but it doesn’t stop there. The Cornish goes from strength to strength and pub number two, The Blacksmiths arms at Lamerton, was added in 2023.

Steve Eperon joined our team in 2015 and is the driving force behind the operations and Front of House at the pubs. Steve utilises his wealth of experience and strives for excellence in customer service at The Cornish and Blacksmiths arms. This shines through him to his teams with his abundance of knowledge and passion for food and drink, providing a professional and welcoming service.
